Methodology

Every feature begins with a question, a source plan and an explicit boundary around what the evidence can support.

A source plan, pencil notes and official maritime documents arranged on a chart table.

Research starts with primary regulations, official data, dated archives and first-party records where those sources are appropriate. Secondary analysis can explain context, but it does not silently replace the governing instrument.

Precise claims receive a source date, scope and confidence note. When inputs are not comparable, the page says so rather than manufacturing a ranking. Current rules and market-sensitive passages carry review dates.

The method is deliberately modest. A clear definition with the right context is more useful than an impressive but unsupported number.
